Effective May 15, 2026, a FIRE BAN is in place in all of Mountain View County. The Fire Ban is in place until further notice.
In accordance with Section 14 of Mountain View County’s Fire Bylaw, the following restrictions apply:
(a) No Fire Permits shall be issued;
(b) No Fire Work Permits shall be issued;
(c) All existing Fire and Firework Permits are suspended;
(d) No person shall ignite a fire regardless of exemption status except for barbeques, internal household fireplaces and AER flaring;
(e) Every person shall immediately extinguish any fire lit once the person knows or ought reasonably to know of the Fire Ban;
(f) No person shall discharge fireworks.
Please note, propane fire pits are NOT PERMITTED during a fire ban.
All current fire and fireworks permits are hereby cancelled, and no new fire or fireworks permits will be issued until the Fire Ban has been lifted.

Fire Ban in Effect
