The Westward Ho Community Hall presents the Annual Christmas Market on Saturday, December 2nd from 10 am to 3 pm at the hall. Join us for a day of cheer, including chili and a bun for $5, a bake sale, local crafters, artists, and more with plenty of gift ideas. Free hot chocolate and sleigh rides all day (weather pending). For table rentals contact Pam at 403-556-2792. Also accepting pantry donations for the local food bank.

Westward Ho Community Hall is at 4354 Hwy 27, close to the Little Red Deer Gas and Store. Turn right at the sign that reads “Westward Ho/Sleepy Hollow” and follow the road to our hall!

Cremona FCSS - Cremona Winterfest

The Annual Cremona WinterFest is set for Saturday, December 2nd in three venues across the Village: Cremona School Gym, Cremona Gold and Silver Club, and the Cremona Community Centre. Event runs from 10 am to 3 pm and features free horse-drawn wagon rides, Kids Playzone (school gym) featuring guest appearances, Santa Claus (community hall), door prizes and hot cholate stands.

Olds Municipal Library - Edible Stories Fundraiser

A fundraiser for the Olds Municipal Library hosted by the Olds Municipal Library Board. Enjoy food and beverages from various locations around the world. For Individuals ages 18-plus only.

On December 2nd, Edible Stories will take participants on a journey around the world highlighting books, food, and libations from five different countries and regions. Participants will travel at intervals to each station and learn from our local experts about the cultures and culinary delights from each country throughout the evening while enjoying friends, new and old, as well as great conversation. 

Sample beverages and food from:

  • Canada (Wine)
  • Alberta (Craft Beer)
  • Italy (Wine)
  • Chile (Wine)
  • Germany (Beer)

At each station you will have a short informal presentation by one of our local experts. You will have the opportunity to sample two beverages from each region and taste some foods typically found in that region. Participants will travel from station to station at regular intervals throughout the evening and have a chance to sample all the delights we have to offer.

Tales of a Christmas Cracker – a One-Woman Musical Theatre Comedy

This special Christmas event will showcase Tracie Skeet-Brook as she brings to life her favourite and loved comical Musical Theatre characters. A portion of proceeds from the event will be donated to the Mountain View Food Bank. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7 pm.

Join us Sunday, December 17th for the Big Prairie Community Association's Christmas Party.

Events start at 1 pm and include wagon rides, hot chocolate and other activities. Santa arrives at 4 pm, followed by supper (Beef on a Bun) at 5 pm.

The event is free and those attending are asked to bring a salad or dessert to go with the meal

The Royal Canadian Legion #105, The Olds Lions Club and the Olds volunteers are co-sponsoring the 2017 Henry Sonnenberg Memorial Christmas Dinner, at the Olds Legion Hall on December 25th.

Come for coffee at 11 am, and meals are being served from 11:30 am to 3 pm.
