9th Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 20th , 2017 from 11 am to 3 pm. Presented by Mountain View BearSmart.

11 am to Noon

  • Displays of information on bear and cougar biology and safety; how to identify black bear, grizzly bear, cougar, wolves and coyotes from their skulls, paw prints, claws and hides; Crafts for the kids.

Noon to 1 pm

  • Free hot dog lunch and crafts for the kids continues. (A donation to help fund our events is greatly appreciated)

1 to 2 pm

  • Bear and cougar safety presentations

2 to 3 pm

  • Outdoor demonstrations (how to use bear spray as a deterrent); Treasure Hunt for the kids (weather permitting of course)

Directions: On Highway 22, go to the Elkton Road turnoff (7 miles north of Cremona or 9.5 miles south of Highway 27), go west on Elkton Road for almost 1.5 miles (watch for the campground signs and do not cross the bridge), turn right and follow the road over a couple of cattle guards and past the trailer sites to the registration entrance. The event is held in the large green and white metal sided building.

BudBarn Museum 10th Anniversary Fundraiser

The Neapolis Historical Association is hosting the 10th anniversary of The BudBarn Museum Saturday, May 20, 2017. There will be live entertainment, food and refreshments available 12 pm to 1 am.

In keeping with our past community donations to the Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Heli Pad Project we would like to combine this event in support of the Mountain View Food Bank. Anyone donating three canned food or non perishable items will receive Free Admission. For those willing to provide a pot luck dish Admission is also Free. General Admission is $5 per person, kids under 10 are Free, a portion of which will also go to the food bank.

That day we will also hold a memorial for two valuable members that have passed away this year. Mr. Brian Wescome “BudMan Calgary” an avid collector himself has left his entire Budweiser collection to The BudBarn Museum. This substantial collection is now on display in the newly renovated lobby. Also missed is Mr. Coby Christman of Cranbrook BC who will be honored for his volunteer efforts.
