Mountain View County is home to several high quality museums and archives, featuring a number of dedicated volunteers and staff ensuring the story of local history and heritage is preserved.
Each of the museums and historical societies is provided with an annual $6,000 contribution by Mountain View County. This alotment is reviewed annually by Council and staff to ensure it is meeting the needs of the local museums.
Features a Norwegian log cabin from 1913; the area's oldest schoolhouse; a blacksmith's house and barn; and the Chester Mjolsness World of Wildlife Museum. Located at 211 - 1st. Ave. SW, Sundre. Open from the May long weekend to Labour Day in September.
