PARTIAL FIRE BAN LIFTED

As of August 31, 2018, at 9 a.m. the Partial Fire Ban has been lifted in all of Mountain View County, because of the recent precipitation and forecasted rain with lower temperatures.

The public is urged to exercise extreme caution while burning, and use precautionary measures such as screens and spark arrestors on burning barrels, cultivate areas surrounding controlled burns and have a supply of water readily available at all. times. Ensure campfires are always attended, and fully extinguished when leaving the site.

Fire Permits can be obtained on the Mountain View County website or by contacting the Mountain View County office at 403-335-3311.

It is required that anyone cornmencing with a controlled burn, contact Fire Dispatch 1-877-507-7011 with the time and date, to allow for monitoring of the controlled fires in Mountain View County, this includes any controlled burning for agricultural purposes.
