The Ag Service Board Summer Tour, co-hosted July 11-14 by Mountain View County and Red Deer County was a huge success according to the organizers.

Up to 300 Provincial ASB members and their families took in tours to producers in both counties for insight into success, failures, and the latest tactics of some of the area's leading edge producers.

Family members took part in the Partners Tour while youths took part in the youth tours.

Stops on the Delegate Tour included Carlson Farms / Agri-trend, Barr-Ag Hay Plant, Willow Lane Barn, Brian Ellis Seed and Reese Cattle Company in Mountain View County; along with Beck Farms, Antler Valley Farms, Woodland Crest Farms Ltd / Todd Bystrom Farm, Bluegrass Sod Nursery and Garden Centre in Red Deer County.

The Partner Tour included stops in Mountain View County at Shirley's Greenhouse / Kohut Corn, PaSu Farm, Solstice Berry Farm and Fallen Timber Meadery. In Red Deer County the Partner Tour visited Edgar Farms, Historic Markerville, and the Jungle Farm.

The 2018 Tour is scheduled for Strathcona County.
